Dr. Martínez received his professional post-graduate specialty training as general surgeon at Centro Médico Nacional de Especialidades “La Raza” of the Mexican Social Security Institute, recognized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has over a quarter of a century of experience performing weight loss surgery. Dr. Martínez is among the very few surgeons that hold the certificate of Master Surgeon of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation. 77

Education

Dr. Martínez has a post-graduate degree in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery from the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, Spain. He has been affiliated with the Obesity Control Center since 2001. Dr. Martínez is a requested speaker at regional and national medical conferences. He has published scientific articles, asked to deliver lectures in medical meetings, and has performed surgical procedures live for international bariatric surgery congresses.
