For years I struggled with my weight, by my mid twenties I had gained over 100 lbs and was unable to keep up with my three young children. I battled with my self worth and searched for self acceptance. It wasn’t until I personally knew someone who had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy that I even considered this an option for myself. I made the decision to liberate myself physically and emotionally by pursuing intentional weight loss through medical intervention. I wish I had chosen body autonomy sooner and not been so worried about being judged for choosing to have VSG.
