On May 3rd 2019 I had vertical sleeve gastrectomy and its hard to put it into words how thankful I am for taking this step.
At my highest weight, I weighed 256 pounds. I was struggling with my mobility, energy, and generally having a hard time keeping up with life! I work in the medical industry myself and had heard about VSG surgery and it was something I had always considered, however insurance in the U.S. is so difficult to navigate, it can take months and months before getting anywhere. On top of that, if you have an HMO like I do, I didn’t even get to pick who my surgeon would be! That is when I started looking into taking this into my own hands. I did tons of research and over and over again, OCC came out as the best of the best. Dr. Ortiz is an expert in this field! My experience was seamless, smooth, I received so much support, knowledge, and even made new amazing friends who were having the surgery too! Since my surgery I have lost 113 pounds and hit my personal goal weight. I am now focusing on maintaining and really enjoying my life in for the first time in what feels like forever. Thank you OCC for giving me this tool and guiding me through out this journey on how to best use it. You are top notch!
