I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. At a high weight of 448 lbs, I realized my health was feeling the effects. I was tired all the time. I didn’t have the energy or ability to keep up with my family and friends. After being diagnosed as pre-diabetic and given a C-PAP machine, I’d had enough! First, I tried going through my insurance company. With my primary doctors help, we applied and were denied for the procedure. After two years and 4 unproductive appeals later, I finally came to the conclusion that they were never going to cover my procedure. Instead of giving up in defeat, my friend suggested looking into other options. Having been through an experience with the OCC a year prior, she was very supportive and open about her experience. I was sold and contacted them the next day to start down that path. That was in January 2017. I lost 80 lbs before the surgery and scheduled for June. The experience was wonderful. The staff and doctors were very professional and kind. After only three months, I shed my C-PAP machine, my A1C was back in normal ranges, and my blood work came back normal in everything. Not to mention the energy I had! I’m so glad I finally took matters into my own hands. I wish I’d done this sooner. Thank you OCC for giving me the tools to finally be successful at what has been a life long struggle.
