After deciding that I wanted to get the gastric sleeve procedure, I started looking around and reading reviews of different gastric surgery centers. After reading many reviews about how great the doctors and staff are at OCC, and realizing that the price of the procedure was finally achievable, I knew that the OCC center was the place for me.
I have always been very active. I played sports all my life. During high school I was offered many scholarships to go play football for some large colleges. After graduating high school, my exercise routines slowed down, and my eating habits got worse. For many years I fought an ever losing battle against my weight. After getting married, and starting a new company my weight continued to climb. I knew that I did not want to keep living life the way that I was, and was determined to lose weight. But, sadly my determination alone never seemed to be enough. I went through the roller coaster of losing weight, and then shortly after gaining it back. Often gaining more weight than I had worked hard to lose. As I kept losing my battle with weight loss, my health began to deteriorate. My blood pressure began to rise, I became pre-diabetic, I developed sleep apnea and could not breath alone at night without a machine. I would also get gout and many day to day activities became difficult and sometimes unbearable. I knew it was time to make a change. I did research and realized that gastric sleeve surgery could be exactly what I needed to begin down the road to a healthier life. Once I decided I was very interested in the gastric sleeve surgery, I began to look at a few different gastric surgery centers. I knew the procedure could change my life, but after being told that my insurance would not cover any of the procedures I realized that to have the surgery in the United States would cost a small fortune. A small fortune that I did not have. By chance, one day a ran across a few reviews on the OCC center. I stayed up for hours reading one great review after another. I finally sent an inquiry and after talking to someone on the phone found out that I qualified for the procedure, and would be able to afford it. That same day I scheduled the procedure. It would happen in 2 months. I started the pre-surgery diet, and had great success. My starting weight was 375 lbs. with a fat percent of 49%. When I went in for surgery my weight was 350 lbs. Everything about my trip to the OCC was great. The drive was quiet, the accommodations where nice, the staff was kind, and the doctors where very attentive and knowledgeable. After returning home from the surgery, I was excited to start my new lifestyle. It has now been 6 months since I began my lifestyle change and I currently weigh 245 lbs. with a body fat percentage of 28% I have lost 130 lbs! I am very active again, and finally feel like I am living life the way that I should. On top of that, I am no longer diabetic, my blood pressure looks great, I no longer have sleep apnea, no sign of gout and day to day actives are a breeze! I have been so excited about my lifestyle change that I felt like I needed to share it with those that I love around me. In the past 6 months I have recommended the OCC center to both my mother and a close friend. They have both received the procedure at the OCC center and are both having great success. Daily I tell people about my story, and how the OCC center has changed my life forever. Thank you OCC for helping me get my life back.
