Marshall D.
Age: 38
Total Pounds Lost: 105
In the past four years my weight is down over one hundred pounds. I first weighed over two hundred pounds at the age of fourteen years old. The most I ever weighed was three hundred thirty five pounds at the age of eighteen. From that time until I had surgery my weight would fluctuate between two hundred sixty and two hundred ninety. Due to binge eating I could never lose weight and keep it off. Having gastric sleeve surgery was the best decision I ever made. Today I am maintaining a healthy weight and living my best life. I can see my abs and no loose skin thanks to exercise and weight lifting. If I could give my past self advice for after the surgery it would be don’t wait to see a therapist. It is not normal for people to completely change their physical appearance and accepting my new body is still very important and it’s really an emotional challenge. Going forward how I think of my new body is more important than how other people see me. If you are a man and can relate, I think you should seriously consider surgery because life is short and now I get to look forward to the future with confidence knowing I will not go back to how it once was.
