I have always struggled with emotional binge eating and my weight. Over the years I had tried diets, weight loss clubs and programs but never found anything that worked or lasted for me. Being about 5’1” and at my highest weight of 197 lbs I ended up on numerous medications and seeing a pulmonologist, cardiologist and a neurologist as well as my primary doctor. Seeing a picture of myself on July 4, 2021 and knowing that I needed to make a serious change before it was too late. With the help of a friend that referred me to the OCC, I contacted them and scheduled my procedure for the end of September 2021. I was so nervous but knew within myself that this was exactly what I needed and it was going to be the beginning of a happier and healthier me. I can say that from the day I inquired about the OCC to this very day the communication and care I have received has exceeded all of my expectations. I have gone from a size 16/18 to a size 2/4. The best part is the feeling of knowing that I am no longer needing any of my prescription medications. For anyone interested in having surgery it is definitely not the “easy way” to accomplish weight loss and a healthier you, it takes following the amazing guidance and steps that are given to you from day one to staying devoted to yourself and the long term benefits. All I can say is if I knew how good it felt then I would have done it years ago!
