New Life at 64!

At age 64 Gayle decided to make a major life change. Struggling with Type II Diabetes and a range of life-threatening diseases related to her weight, she did the research and came up with a solution: the Obesity Control Center was the best option and so she went for it.
By golly I made it! I was banded at the ripe old age of 64 and with every co-morbidity you could come up with: Type II diabetes (95 units of NPH daily), hypertension, degenerative arthritis, serious yeast infections, and dangerously high cholesterol.
Everything was going south in a hurry and I was frightened. Then I saw a full page ad by Bioenterics in the Diabetes Forecast magazine and decided, That’s for me!
After starting my investigation, like hundreds of others, I began to run into the walls. I couldn’t afford to self-pay and found myself discouraged with no place to turn. Then someone told me that Mexico was an excellent option. Next it was research, research, research. I found Dr. Ortiz, thank God, because being an older person I wanted the best chance for survival that was out there. I just knew, after talking with him, that Dr. O had the skills and ability to get me through this.
What a cultural shock Mexico was for mebut all in a positive light! It was the most positive medical experience I have ever had. The fact that the Dr. Ortiz actually cares about you and checks on you and wants to hear from you was something I had not experienced here in the States.
So here I am! Just two years later I have gone from taking a handful of pills both morning and night to just 10 units NPH. Next up? I am hoping to lose 5 to 10 more lbs and best of all, kick the needle habit!
