Lucia Chavez Chief of Nutrition

Lucia graduated with honors and received the university medal of merit from Universidad Iberoamericana. She has studied postgraduate courses in the perioperative management of the bariatric surgery patient, functional foods and dietary supplements for cancer prevention and treatment, digestive disease care, and exercise supplementation and hydration. Her quest is to provide realistic, achievable and life-long nutritional benefits to her patients. In addition, she has training in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help motivate and educate her patients.

Her role at OCC is to provide education and counseling through nutritional interventions designed to improve digestive health, minimize disease risk factors, improve nutritional status and achieve a healthy weight. She wants her patients to be at their optimal health, to feel good and look good!

Lucia teaches Nutrition Physiology at Universidad Iberoamericana, is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly ADA), Dietitians Association of Integrative Medicine and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine. She also responds to media enquires including written press and television. She is currently involved in the foundation of the Association of Nutritionists and Dietitians of Baja California and is involved in bariatric research.
